Terms of Use
Last Updated: June 7, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how The Best Move collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services. The Best Move is a wellness and informational app that provides real-time food and lifestyle guidance based on your inputs and app logic.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Account and profile information
Email address and login information.
Profile details you choose to provide, such as goals, activity level, optional macro targets, and health considerations like allergies or digestive sensitivities.
Wellness and usage inputs
Information you provide through the app, such as location context, movement status, workout type and timing, modifiers like alcohol use, poor sleep, overeating, or late eating, and descriptions of food or meals.
App outputs and related records such as Best Move responses, Why This Works, Next Move, Flex Move, and check-in outcomes.
Device and analytics information
Device type, operating system, app version, identifiers, IP address or general location derived from IP, and app usage events such as onboarding progress, login events, paywall views, and trial starts.
Subscription information
Subscription status, trial status, renewal, cancellation, and related billing metadata provided by Apple App Store, Google Play, or our subscription service providers.
Communications
Information you send us through support, email, waitlists, surveys, or similar communications.
3. How We Use Information
We may use the information we collect to:
Provide, operate, and maintain The Best Move.
Generate and deliver personalized or contextual recommendations and related app outputs.
Improve product performance, features, user experience, and analytics.
Manage accounts, authentication, subscriptions, trials, and customer support.
Send service-related messages, support responses, updates, and, where permitted, marketing communications.
Protect the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Services.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Tools and Service Providers We Use
To build, operate, test, and improve The Best Move, we use third-party tools and service providers that may process account, technical, usage, subscription, and app-related information on our behalf.
These may include, depending on the feature or platform:
Supabase for database, storage, and user account or profile data.
Firebase for authentication and app support services.
Railway for backend hosting and deployment.
OpenAI to help generate certain app responses based on relevant user-provided context; according to your current tool reference, OpenAI receives structured recommendation inputs but not email address or direct user ID.
PostHog for product analytics, event tracking, funnel analysis, and retention insights.
Apple App Store and Google Play for in-app purchases, subscriptions, billing, renewals, cancellations, and platform-level payment processing.
We may also use other vendors for app functionality, support, security, distribution, or testing as the Services evolve, and we will update this Privacy Policy as appropriate.
5. Important Tracking and Advertising Statement
We use analytics and service-provider tools to operate and improve the app, but we do not state that we sell personal information in the traditional sense of selling user lists for money unless our practices change. Based on the tools you have described, The Best Move is not designed around third-party advertising networks embedded in logged-in wellness flows.
You should only keep the following sentence in the final policy if it remains true in practice: We do not use Meta Pixel or similar social media advertising pixels inside logged-in app experiences where users enter wellness-related information, and we do not disclose users’ wellness entries to third-party advertising networks for their own independent marketing use without consent.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information:
With service providers and vendors that help us run the Services, including hosting, database, authentication, analytics, AI, and subscription-management providers.
With Apple or Google when needed to process or verify subscriptions purchased through their platforms.
If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
In aggregated or de-identified form where the information does not reasonably identify you.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify information where reasonably feasible, subject to legal, technical, or legitimate business needs.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, such as controlled access, secure hosting, and encryption in transit where appropriate. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of your information. You may also opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those emails, and you may manage app permissions and some notification settings through your device or app settings.
To request account deletion or ask privacy-related questions, contact us at [privacy email].
10. Children’s Privacy
The Best Move is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate permission, we will take steps to delete that information.
11. International and State Rights
If you use the Services outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. Depending on your state or country, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights related to health-related or sensitive data.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date and may provide additional notice if the changes are material.
